COVID-19 Plan & procedures

We understand that there is a lot of uncertainty right now so we want to assure you that we are keeping up to date with all pertinent information regarding the COVID-19 pandemic and we will continue to do our best to provide a safe place for our guests to stay while visiting the North Shore.

Governor Walz had asked all business owners in Minnesota to come up with protocols for how to safely operate during the COVID-19, so we wanted to take this opportunity to share with you our current challenges and how we decided to proceed.

We are grateful to be able to continue to accept visitors, but we will do so while following these policies which are based on guidance from the CDC, WHO, MDH & OSHA and are consistent with recommendations from Airbnb & VRBO for cleaning in hospitality environments. We expect that these policies will be in place until at least Spring 2021 or beyond, and despite the extra time and costs associated with these added efforts and services, we intend to keep our rates where they are.

We have introduced extra sanitizing procedures to ensure that each cottage is safe for the next guests who will be arriving. This includes initial sanitization of all surfaces with special focus on high traffic surfaces such as door knobs, handles, light switches, guest keys and lock boxes; etc. Once the initial sanitization has taken place we will complete our traditional cleaning procedure including pulling all linens (even those which are unused). If a guest is more comfortable bringing their own bed linens and towels we ask that they request for the cottage to be cleaned and left without linens and towels before their arrival.

Once the cottage has been disinfected and cleaned completely, we will complete our new protocol by spraying all surfaces down with disinfecting spray once again in order to ensure that nothing was missed. We will also be providing ample soap, disinfecting spray, cleaning products and disposable paper towels in each cottage for guests to use while they are here.

Due to the recommendations by the CDC for safe sanitization practices for lodging facilities, we will be removing any throw pillows or items that cannot be properly washed between guests.

  • We will encourage you to stay home if you are feeling sick, and in turn, we will not enter our Cottages if we are feeling sick either.

  • Please take the proper precautions if you are out and about and happen to be near others; we have a very vulnerable, rural community here and want our guests to take great care.

  • We will have no contact with guests. If there is an emergency we will respond but require that all parties remain the socially responsible 6 feet apart and have protective masks covering their faces.

  • We request that all guests practice frequent hand washing while visiting. We hope that this will help to reduce the chances of potentially spreading harmful germs. Please remember that even if you don’t feel sick yet, you may still be carrying the COVID-19 virus.

  • We will continue to monitor public health communications related to the COVID-19 pandemic and adjust our policies as we see safe and fit.

We thank you in advance for your anticipate understanding as we all try and navigate these trying times in the best and safest way possible.

Sincerely,

Danni & Carl
